Kawachi Wisteria Garden
河内藤園
Kawachi Wisteria Garden is a private garden located in the wooded hills south of central Kitakyushu, famous for its large numbers of wisteria flowers which are spectacularly presented. The history of Kawachi Wisteria began with the dream of its founder, Higuchi Masao, to plant beautiful wisteria species in the hillside garden and create a wisteria garden for everyone to visit and enjoy.
The garden is opened to the public seasonally during the wisteria season, which usually peaks around late April to early May, and during the maple leaf season in autumn. It is also known as a place associated with the hit manga "Kimetsu no Yaiba" (Demon Slayer), whose author was born in Fukuoka and many fans visit as a result.
