Ikoma Plateau in Miyazaki Prefecture is best known for its blooming fields of flowers. Here, visitors can see a sea of pansies and poppies in the spring or myrtles and salvias in the summer. But the most popular time to visit is by far in the fall, when 100,000 cosmos flowers are in full bloom. Other activities around the area include a small cafe located within the grounds, which is wildly popular for its soft serve, and many local eateries where visitors can taste and enjoy local delicacies made from regional ingredients.
