Nokubi Coast
野首海岸
Nozaki Island can be accessed by the local boat "Hamayu" from neighboring Ojika Island. After climbing a long slope from Nozaki Port, a long white-sand beach and cobalt-blue seascape come into view, stretching for about 300 meters along the Nokubi Coast. This spot is located in the center of the east side of Nozaki Island, and is a spectacular place to watch the sunrise on a clear day. The island was inhabited until 1971 when the last residents left the island, and now wild deers can be seen roaming freely. Today Nozaki Island offers visitors a variety of hiking, swimming and camping activities. There's also a walk to the old Nokubi Church, now a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
