Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum

This museum educates the public about the horrors of war and the importance of striving for peace. Well-designed displays explain the history of the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945, in very accessible forms. There are large photos of Nagasaki before and after the explosion, firsthand accounts from survivors and personal items found near the hypocenter. The museum has exhibitions about nuclear weapons and the hope for a world free from their threat. The museum has permanent and temporary exhibitions, reading rooms, and video rooms.
