Yoshinogari Historical Park

吉野ヶ里遺跡

Built around the Yoshinogari Ruins, this park in Kanzaki is one of Japan's largest excavations from the Yayoi period (300BCE-300CE). The ruins have provided an unrivaled source of information about the 600 years of the Yayoi period, a time of great change as people shifted from nomadic to settled lifestyles. You can explore the reconstructed villages to learn more about this ancient civilization. Exhibitions show tools and artefacts, and there are hands-on activities such as stone carving.
