Mifuneyama Rakuen — A Forest Where Gods Live

御船山楽園 かみさまがすまう森

Mifuneyama Rakuen in Takeo in Saga Prefecture is home to a stunning number of natural features, including a 3,000-year-old sacred tree. The forest provided the perfect canvas for international artistic collective teamLab to create a fantasy world titled "A Forest Where Gods Live". It's believed that the mountain Mifuneyama rose from the Ariake Sea, and its name (meaning “ship mountain”) is taken from the legend in which Empress Jingu moors her ship to the montain upon returning from a journey to the kingdom of Silla on the Korean peninsula. The exhibition features 22 amazing individual installations, each of which offers a completely unique sensory encounter with light and sound.
