Arita Porcelain Park

有田ポーセリンパーク

This palatial museum and park in Arita, conveys the history of the town's most famous product. The main attraction is a full-size reconstruction of Germany's Zwinger Palace, a spectacular example of German baroque architecture of the early 18th century. The displays inside the palace and park provide insight into the influence of Arita porcelain on European designs. In the park grounds there is a studio where visitors can try making porcelain, and tours of a sake, shochu (Japanese liquor), and beer brewery. You can make a relaxing day trip, enjoying the restaurants, cafe, and European-style gardens.
