Bokuya Guide (Grassland Trail Walk/Grassland Bike Ride)

Aso is a vast grassland that stretches as far as you can see. The grassland has been maintained for millennia by our ancestors, who cultivated rice and other agricultural products, raised cattle and horses, and produced fertilizers essential for agriculture. The beautiful landscape has been preserved by local people who continue to graze cattle, gather grass, and burn fields as a means of livelihood. This progress has been recognized as GIAHS (Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems). Visitors can enjoy the grasslands of Aso through the "Bokuya Walk," a walking tour with a guide, and the "Bokuya Ride," a mountain bike (E-bike) tour with a guide. Through these tours, you will experience all that the grasslands have to offer that are normally inaccessible.
